inI am really excited to share that I will be joining Vancouver Opera’s production of ‘Another Brick in the Wall.’ Inspired by Roger Water’s album and composed by Canadian Québécois composer Julien Bilodeau, the Opéra is a fantastic blend of old meets new, with story and melodies drawn from the original album then classically arranged and orchestrated. I will be playing the role of the father. Only the 4th production of this new work in the world, it is a show not to be missed.

inHey everyone, time to post about the fun things coming up over the next month.
First up I have Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with the Burnaby Lyric Opéra at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby. Possibly the most performed opera of all time, Butterfly’s story of love and tragedy is a beautiful emotional journey. Along with some great artists, all from Vancouver, come out and enjoy this fully staged opera with piano.
Next up is Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana put on by the Westcoast Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Bach Choir. With a libretto completely composed of pretty raunchy poetry written by German monks, it’s a massive choral exposition. Yet again, it is performed by great local soloists. I get to sing the part of a swan recounting his life while being roasted and eaten; 3 minutes of comedic gold.
Finally, on the 1st of March, is Beethoven’s 9th symphony with the Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Bach Choir. Beethoven’s last symphony it’s a piece not to be missed if you have not heard it yet. With themes like the famous Ode to Joy theme that everyone will recognize, the 9th symphony is something everyone will enjoy.
All the details and ticket prices are in the individual posts previous to this one. Have a great February!
